JaMP Player is a minimalist application with the essential functions to play music, that will appeal to those who prefer simplicity. The program offers support for more than 40 formats for audio playback (MP3, OGG, WMA, ACC, WAV) along with playlists. The player interface consists of a compact, plain window which includes the basic controls: Play, Previous, and Pause buttons. There we can also find options to shuffle, loop, and repeat tracks. There is a 10-band equalizer with a number of presets and different speakers’ profiles. To add music to JaMP we can select either individual tracks (supports drag and drop), or entire folders. The application does not have support for extra information (ID3 tags), so the only data available about a particular track is the name of the file. Most functions can be called via hotkeys that we can customize from the main settings. JaMP Player can be set to stay on top of other applications, and when minimized, it goes directly to the system tray. Regarding the GUI, there’s no chance to modify or customize its appearance; the only adjustment we can make to the player is define the window’s transparency level.
